Kalafat ensemble was founded in Mostar (BIH) by Vladimir Micković (vocal, percussion), a sound artist with the support of other like minded musical comrades from BIH, Croatia, Italy and Izrael.
Kalafat extends over the physical spaces, past and present, historical movements and individual paths of members of the ensemble, speaking through the prism of specific traditional music brought about by creative artistic approaches, but with the respect to his true spirit. Vladimir Mićković was previously involved with the Arkul project and Mostar Sevdah Reunion. Now, he acts as kalafat through his own vision, gathering many minds throughout one journey - by interpreting Dalmatian music in the vast contet of the Medietrranean.
